The Services of the Student Services Department include arranging the personnel and equipment necessary for the operation of the Student Self-government (Hungarian acronym: ME-HÖK) and the PhD Student Self-government (Hungarian acronym: ME-DÖK) as well as providing information, consulting and career counselling services.

The administrators of the Student Services Department manage the official, university tasks: administrating, managing, ensuring the appropriate utilization of the university resources for the HÖK and the DÖK, keeping record of the inventory, providing support for the ME-HÖK, taking part in the organization of events (exhibitions, cultural and other events as well as mega events for students such as the Freshmen’s Ball, Job Fair and Miskolc University Days).

In our room (in Building A/1 Room 7) we provide information about the current application opportunities, scholarships, various cultural and sporting events, as well as public life events at the university. The members of the Student Self-government provide support for the students in knowing their way about the regulations and academic affairs related to them. In addition, ordering university season tickets to the theatre at a discount price, purchasing ISIC international student identity cards, online apartment referral (free of charge for both the lessors and the students who look for sublets because they were not accommodated in the student hostel), as well as the registration and administration of community student groups also take place in this office of the Student Services Department.

Furthermore, as part of the career counselling and consulting services, the Student Services Department operates a complex advisory or information system as well, whose aim is to provide assistance for the graduating students and the graduates of the University of Miskolc in starting their career. To this end, the Student Services Department – involving experts – provides career guidance, and by finding and announcing professional internship opportunities it directly promotes the employment of fresh graduates.
